Restless Leg Syndrome Becomes Epidemic
Three of the most common underlying problems faced by Americans are: 1) insufficient calcium delivery to cells, 2) deteriorating bones and joints with resultant arthritis, osteoporosis, stenosis, pinched nerves, and neuropathies, and 3) insufficient circulation to deliver oxygen to the cells. These problems are primarily nutritional or structural. And ironically all three make up the major causes of a condition that is sweeping across America- Restless Leg Syndrome. (RLS)

Three Major Causes of RLS

1. Insufficient calcium to the legs: For most people the problem is not a calcium deficiency. Rather it is the body's inability to digest and assimilate calcium- that is, getting it to the legs. This deficiency begins in the stomach with many people over the age 65 suffering from insufficient digestive enzymes. Add the fact that large numbers of individuals over the age of 65 regular take antacids and you have a set up for serious calcium mal absorption. Then consider that over the counter pain killers taken for arthritis further deplete digestive enzymes, and you can see why the first major cause of RLS is so epidemic.

               2. Structural problems affecting the legs:
As calcium mal absorption gets worse, the body will begin to calcify ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. This is the formula for osteoporosis and arthritis. The medical treatment for these conditions is more drugs, which further complicates the calcium problem. As the lower spine suffers, the result can be a narrowed spinal canal with irritated and pinched nerves to the legs. Hardening, calcifying, and expanding ligaments, cartilage, and tendons slowly squeeze off the space through which nerves from the lower spine course into the muscles of the legs. This causes a constant nagging irritation, often producing muscle twitching, spasms, pains, burning, and more.

               3. Inadequate circulation to the legs: Evan if one has plenty of digested and absorbed calcium in the blood, without adequate circulation, the needed nutrients will not reach the legs in adequate amounts. Heart disease and the resulting inadequate circulation is the single greatest cause of death in America today. It is no wonder that this third contributory cause plays a major role in the increasing number RLS sufferers.

What to do:

When it comes to insufficient calcium to the legs, you must think digestion. Use proper diet and digestive enzymes to resolve digestive problems. To get calcium to your cells, you especially need adequate acids and enzymes in your stomach. Try taking one to three
Catalyst 7 per meal to test your stomach acids. Add to this two to four Phyto Cal Mag Plus and you will be on your way to digesting and absorbing calcium properly. As always consult with your Natural Health Partitioner before starting any supplement regimen.
